![]() if anything him getting everything made life dry for him cause he basically has everything. Instead they kept giving him everything instead of hanging out with him, Chris had shown many times that he values hanging out with people he cared about over presents. But ultimately he never received that affection growing up cause they were busy with work. He knows that people care about him, but due to his parents neglecting him, Chris ended up striving for their affection. This kid is literally living a privileged life and can't spend a second thinking maybe his friends and family aren't just space heaters in his quest for sonic and co. I'm surprised he didn't pull more "I'm sick" because his parents dropped fuckin everything to go back. ![]() When he makes a comment about how bad his mom is to be busy, cream is obviously upset because he mom is in another dimension and she can't even call her. He pretends that the kind and caring people around him don't exist when he complains about how bad his life is without sonic. ![]() I just don’t get how some people can call Chris selfish, like do people hate him based on what they think he is? A selfish person wouldn’t care about anyone, meanwhile Chris shown that he cares about his family, his friends, and even cares about strangers he never met before, he even feels sympathy for some of the antagonists, His character is the opposite of selfish. there’s really nothing wrong for him to look up to Sonic and his friends more, it’s natural for any kid to look up to their heroes. Ofc he also has his grandpa and his two servants, but they are shown to be busy with their own work as well, also yes he has human friends, but according to him his life became more exciting and thrilling when he met Sonic and his friends. Chris has loving parents, but them not being in his life growing up still affected him understandably. It’s not fair to call him selfish, he’s a kind kid who risked his life multiple times to save innocent lives who he never met before. I mean, just cause someone is rich does not mean they are not relatable, do I need to be a hedgehog or a fox to relate to Sonic or Tails? ![]() To Chris, the only person who is important is himself. He's passable in season 3 except man did his selfishness treat his friends like they don't exist again. His extremely selfish actions at the end of season 2 was annoying rather than emotional. That his parents are never there, except even though they're busy, they are very loving, his grandfather is always there and he has 2 very kind staff. A super rich kid complaining about how he has no friends, except he has friends who care about him. People can relate to anyone based on the person’s character or what they go through. But as the show kept going, Chris grown and accepted that it’s fine if they can’t visit more often due how busy they can be, he learned to be patient and wait for them instead of feeling sad everytime they don’t visit him.Īgain, being rich, poor, or normal, is irrelevant. Chris is only sad that his parents are never around, he’s not throwing tantrum or being harsh to anyone just cause his parents don’t show up, he just feels sad sometimes that they don’t spend time with him. I think you’re stretching it a little bit. I certainly don’t need to be a hedgehog or fox to relate and understand Sonic and Tails. You know being rich is irrelevant right? A character can be relatable to anyone whether they are poor, rich, or normal. Plenty of kids had it far worse, yet whined about it far less.Īnd to myself, and many others, he comes across as a spoilt little rich kid, unrelatable to the reality we grew up in. Growing up, I - and I'm sure many others - would've loved to have been in Chris' situation with two loving parents who do their best even if it meant leaving me to my grandfather and butler & maid some of the time, not to mention having a classroom with several close friends, and that's before the alien animals turned up. The fundamental point is that all his whining and complaining is disproportionate to the amount he has to whine and complain about. ![]() Plenty of people didn't have anywhere close to the amount of carers he has, got even less attention from their parents than he does (both his parents, despite being busy put in the effort where possible), plenty of kids went through school picked on and without any real friends. Explaining it doesn't make him relatable. ![]()
